Core asymmetry influence on transmission line parameters of three‐core power cables

چکیده

Time-domain reflectometry applied for power cable diagnostics employs transmission line parameters to determine signal shape and delay. This paper proposes utilize pulse reflection measurement evaluate the symmetry of a three-core as part production quality assessment. For rotation-symmetric cable, can be obtained analytically, with modal analysis propagation channels decoupled. Asymmetry caused by inaccurate core positioning complicates decoupling process. utilizes “field-circuit” approach analysis. The finite element method is used obtain electromagnetic field distribution two types asymmetry introduced in design. Modal results are validated considering perturbation symmetric influence on time-domain response simulated. Deviation from configuration observable, particular terms velocity, which employed assess manufacturing accuracy.
